About
Hi, I’m Danielle Gibbs, but most people know me as Danny. I’m a UX/UI designer. Born and raised in New Jersey, though my life has been filled with exploring possibilities in New York. I grew up in a creative home. Watching my mom sew clothes and crochet baby accessories as a side job and a hobby. While developing a big imagination from playing with Barbie Dolls. This led me to draw fashion in my notebook and take an art and fashion design class in high school. That was the beginning of my design career.
Before I became a designer, I had been working in customer service-based jobs. From sales associate to receptionist, and TSA officer, along with assistant store manager. But the jobs that have always stuck the most to me were the retail stores, where the merchandise consists of either clothing, tea, or museum merchandise. All of which you’d have to know the brand and the customers to match the right product to the buyer.
Though I’ve run into a few setbacks in my earlier years of trying to get my fashion design certification from NYSD(New York School of Design), and a graphic design degree from DeVry. This career path has always been my goal. So, when I helped to make business cards for my job, I knew that I had gotten back to my journey of becoming a designer. And seeing that UX/UI design combines my knowledge of being user-focused and visual design, I dived right in. More determined to show my skills in problem-solving, research, brand identity, storytelling, and visual design.
